RONism #9 “Let’s let them burn their hands on this one.”
Not because you don’t care—but because you do.
I’ve burned my own hands more times than I can count—on scope creep, rushed decisions, messy handoffs… you name it.
And yeah, I usually saw it coming. But sometimes, feeling the heat is what makes the lesson stick.
In project work, it’s tempting to step in and fix things before they go sideways. But letting someone run with it—even if it stings a little—is often the fastest way they grow.
You still have their back. You still guide. But you also let them learn.
It’s not easy. But it’s worth it.
