RONism #10: I feel like they’re criticizing us on how we’re saving someone from a burning building.
I say this when I see a team doing everything they can in a tough moment — showing up, problem-solving, caring deeply about the outcome — and still getting picked apart in real time.
The truth is, most great work doesn’t happen in calm, perfect conditions. It happens in motion, under pressure, with people who are trying their best for each other and for the business.
There’s a time for feedback and reflection — and I believe in it wholeheartedly. But there’s also a time to simply support the people who are running toward the problem, not away from it.
First we steady the fire. Then we learn and grow together.
Gratitude for the ones who show up, stay calm in the heat, and care enough to try. Those are the teams that make real progress happen.
